Christ, you ever get that feeling of loss? like I'm talking that real separation, I know "planetsides" don't really get space but it's overpowering. The feeling of that you lost something is just everywhere in spacer art and lifestyle.
Yeah I was born on a convoy ship traveling between venus and earth. They [spacers] have this kind of ritual I guess where when a child is born everyone in the ship records a thought or poem or song or something like that. Then they all upload these sayings and play them to the baby, then space out the phrases.
They call them Sentimentality Transmitions. But funnily enough when they sent to my transition it just failed, it got corrupted or something I never found out. My parents dropped me off at some near orbit station and left.
Gave me a document file explaining why they left and that was it. A suspersticious bunch, but I don't blame them really, Space makes you go crazy looking into nothing all day.
